As we prepare to celebrate yet another mother’s day, it is again time to thank our mom for everything that she has done for us. The spirit of motherhood needs to be celebrated a lot more as mothers are the most beautiful thing in this world. But how often do we say thank you to them for all the love that they shower on us? From all walks of life, the only role that plays the similar way is of all the mothers. And that is the innate drive to nourish their children and meet their every need, big and small. No matter where you are or what you have, I have learned the deepest desire for all mothers is the same, they just want to flood their children with all the love and care possible.
It goes without a saying that the bond between a mother and her child is the most special one. No matter how many children may she have, no matter how different they are. She would pour her heart with love to all of them the same way. All the super moms around the world are like warriors in the battle with her baby in one hand and a shield in another.
Mother’s day is one of the days from the calendar that is dedicated to all the mothers for their immense patience, kindness, concern, and understanding that they possess while raising her child. We thank God for Mothers. And We thank God for the wonder of mothering.
It is said that when a woman becomes a mother, she does not only change physically but mentally and emotionally as well. She goes through this unimaginable pain month after month to bring her child on to this earth. And she weaves her dreams with pure love to raise her child in the best possible way. She would spend sleepless nights to watch over her baby, take care of the baby in a way that the baby is a piece of her heart, put all the desires and wants of her child before hers. A mother does not think twice when it comes to her child, she struggles to bring down everything from the universe to her child’s lap just to see that giggling smile.
Mothers are those who do not take care of themselves but are always concerned for you, she would not bother if her finger cuts and bleeds but will rush to get the first aid kit if she sees a scratch on your body, she would not eat before making sure that you are not skipping a meal, and when your exams are around the corner- she would not even sleep, she would spend the entire night sitting beside you as if she has to appear for her class 9 exams again. She would juggle between work and home so that you never miss your mom for a second. She would guard you and protect you from almost everything. And she will always have a smile on her face.
These were like 1/100th of what they do for us. How can you gauge the kind of love that mothers shower on us? You cannot. Wherever we go we cannot part with the bonding that we share with our mother. We say thank you to them very less, we do not always remember how special they are in our life. But maybe that surprise gift, that tight hug on a tough day, or that song about a mom that always makes you teary-eyed. It will always take you back to your mother.
This mother’s day let’s celebrate all the mothers and all kinds of motherhood. A mother does not need to give birth to become a mother or to celebrate motherhood. So, let us say thank you to all the would-be mothers, the single mothers, the mothers who did not give birth but have a motherly heart, the mothers who might be your aunt but raised you like your own mother, and the mothers that we see in our elder sisters.
Express your love to them and show them how much they mean to us. Give her a hug with a thank you card, surprise her with that gift which she always wanted to buy but did not, part with technology and social media for a while and spend the day with her, tell her how much you value all the efforts she made to raise you. No matter how simple your way of expressing is, it would surely bring a bright smile on her face. Because Mother’s Day is the day when we celebrate the sheer simplicity of the motherhood.
